An image that allegedly shows off Kinect 2 has hit the internet. It not only shows improved depth perception, but a higher level of detail—such as being able to read people's fingers and discern clothing. There's head patting, too.
As Kotaku first revealed, the next Xbox is codenamed "Durango". Previously, insiders told Kotaku that the next Xbox will play Blu-ray and will introduce Kinect 2.
The image comes from Twitter user SuperDaE, who allegedly has a Durango development kit. Kotaku is following up with Microsoft and will update this post should the company comment.
A Microsoft spokesperson tells Kotaku, "Xbox 360 has found new ways to extend the console lifecycle by introducing controller-free experiences with Kinect and re-inventing the console with a new dashboard and new entertainment content partnerships. We are always thinking about what is next for our platform and how to continue to defy the lifecycle convention."
