Rockstar Neither Confirms — Nor Denies — Luis Rumor

Gamer speculation holds that GTA's second DLC episode, following Lost and Damned, will feature Dominican dope dealer Luis Fernando Lopez. Given the chance to deny it to Gametrailers, Rockstar's Jeronimo Barrera didn't.

For those who haven't played this far, spoiler alert (I guess. This is so old. Anyway.) But completing "Museum Piece" in Grand Theft Auto IV earns you the trophy "Impossible Trinity," whose meaning is puzzling to some. But conventional wisdom says that, since the mission brings together Niko Bellic, Johnny Klebitz, and Luis, and since Niko (GTA IV) and Johnny Klebitz (L&D) are both player-controlled protagonists, Luis is therefore the unannounced third in the next installment.

"Those are some interesting dots to connect, that's all I have to say," Barrera told Gametrailers TV's Geoff Keighley.

Of course any buzz is good buzz for a game, so Barrera's not going to shut down anyone's interest in what might be coming up in the second piece of DLC. But if it was someone else, or someone new, nothing stops him from at least making a cryptic reference to that, either. And it would follow that a character from the retail version of the game is the only one that would rise to the level of a player-protagonist.
