Rock Band Picks Up Styx, REO Speedwagon

Two classic rock groups collide next week in Rock Band, with three songs each from Styx and REO Speedwagon, and one song by Styx and REO Speedwagon.

REO Speedwagon and Styx are getting together for a Can't Stop Rocking tour that kicks off this May, and with Rock Band as one of the sponsors it was pretty much inevitable that we'd see a collaborative REO Speedwagon / Styx Tour '09 Pack for the game. Styx is offering up three recently re-recorded classics, "Blue Collar Man (Long Nights)" , "Renegade" and "Too Much Time on My Hands", which strikes me as an oddly ironic song for someone sitting around playing Rock Band to be playing.

Fresh off the REO Speedwagon are "Ridin' the Storm Out,", "Roll With the Changes," and "Take It on the Run".

But wait, there's one more song! The pack also features "Can't Stop Rockin'", a collaborative effort between the two bands recorded specially for the tour, makes up the seventh song in the pack, and suddenly the first line in this article makes sense.

The REO Speedwagon / Styx Tour '09 Pack drops April 21st for the Xbox 360 and April 23rd for the PlayStation 3, along with a three song pack from progressive rockers Hautewerk which includes three songs from their 2006 debut album -
"Stop Start Again", "Alone in My Head", and "I Know Where You Came From". Tracks are $1.99 or 160 Microsoft points apiece, with the Tour Pack priced at $10.99 / 880 points and Hautewerk's trio available for $5.49 / 440 points.
