Rock Band Finally Gains Creedence

Creedence Clearwater Revival music will not be available in Rock Band until next week, yet somehow the series has still been a smashing success. How can this be?

CCR is the sort of band that has a song that fits any particular moment in your life. Songs like "Down on the Corner," "Bad Moon Rising," and "Who'll Stop the Rain," used to seem to magically begin playing on the radio at just the right moment. The band's music just makes sense no matter where it's played. Hell, it even seemed to fit right in during the band's cameo in 80's sitcom What's Happening!!, which wasn't a place you'd expect to see a folksy rock band at the time.

One place you would expect Creedence to appear is in Rock Band, but for some reason they've never made it in. Harmonix rectifies the serious oversight next week with a dozen songs from the band, each one a true classic.

Just take a look at the list:

"Bad Moon Rising"
"Born on the Bayou"
"Down on the Corner"
"Fortunate Son (Original Version)"
"Green River"
"I Heard It Through the Grapevine"
"Lookin' Out My Back Door"
"Proud Mary"
"Run Through the Jungle"
"Travelin' Band"
"Up Around the Bend"
"Who'll Stop the Rain"

It's about damn time, isn't it?

The Creedence Clearwater Revival Pack 01 will be available July 6 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii versions of Rock Band, Rock Band 2, and LEGO Rock Band.

Holy shit, their version of I Heard it Through the Grapevine? The original Proud Mary? Lookin' Out My Back Door? These songs are classic.

Again, about damn time.
