It’s an exciting time in the world of Destiny, a video game in which players travel through space, killing aliens and gradually realizing that nothing really matters because we all die alone.

A new patch that launched yesterday in preparation for the upcoming Rise of Iron expansion (which goes live on September 20) is full of hidden new features that you can access right now. For example, the new exotic sidearm Trespasser, which is already dropping for some people. Some players also say they’ve snagged engrams that go over the current level cap, 335. Rise of Iron will raise the cap to 385.

And check it out: You can now see the new Rise of Iron zones, Plaguelands and Felwinter Peak:

Over at r/destinythegame there’s a big compilation of all the unannounced changes in this patch. Exciting times all around. Chances are high that this will be the last major DLC before Destiny 2 comes out in the fall of 2017, so who can blame players for wanting to savor every moment of it?

Mister McGibblets

Can anyone who still plays give me an idea of how long it would take for a long-lapsed player to gear back up to the current PvE endgame standards/Rise of Iron start point? I stopped between mastering HM Oryx and when they released the raid challenges. I think the light cap was like 310 back then. How many weeks of raid drops is it gonna take to catch up?

Also: Are the LFG sites still populated enough to find good groups? Did they ever do anything to make Vault/Crota relevant again?
