I really liked the 3DS game Resident Evil: Revelations. So did Stephen. So it was cool to hear that it'd be coming to consoles and PC so that people could play the game—which really does feel like a "proper" console Resident Evil game—on their TVs.
At the Capcom press event on Tuesday, I played a bit of the console version and liked it—the controls are a natural fit for a console controller (more natural than for the 3DS, even with the circle pad pro attachment), and while it doesn't have the production bells and whistles of, say, Resident Evil 6, well… maybe bells and whistles aren't all they're cracked up to be. You can tell it's a port—notably, there are some loooong loading times between areas, but the core of the game remains the same, and makes the transition admirably.
I had a nice chat with producer Tsukasa Takenaka, highlights of which I'll have up on Kotaku soon. In the meantime, here are some screens Capcom sent along. They're mainly of Jill shooting monsters, but I really like the one up top. What is that face she's making? And is that the infamous 'pair of walking tits' behind her?
Anyway, enjoy.
