Science/tech nerds Waterloo Labs, who are no strangers to Mario projects, have truly outdone themselves this time with the creation of a real-life game of Mario Kart.

Transforming four regular karts, they feature weapon launchers. But that's just the start of the "realness". Strung up over the course were item boxes which would be scanned, after which the driver would be randomly assigned a power-up. If a weapon was hit, then the karts were able to simulate some of the effects, locking up the wheel or hitting the brakes (or even speeding up if you hit a star).
