Sony’s recent slashing of the PSPgo’s price worldwide has had a noticeable effect on sales of the download-only device, at least in Japan. The regularly triple-digit selling PSPgo just had one of its best weeks ever overseas.

The smaller, lighter version of Sony’s PlayStation Portable just moved another 3,000 units in Japan, managing to outsell the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2. It came within spitting distance of the Nintendo DS Lite, but will have to settle for the glory of seventh place in this week’s Media Create chart.
