The PlayStation 5 Pro is out November 7 and with just a few days to go ahead of the new console’s launch, we finally have both confirmation on the full specs of the machine as well as all of the 50 games getting PS5 Pro enhanced upgrades in time for release.
System architect Mark Cerny’s technical presentation revealing the $700 PS5 Pro in September gave a broad overview of what the mid-generation refresh would be capable of, but with official unboxings of the new hardware underway, we now have a better idea of the actual specs powering the most powerful gaming console currently available. A fresh rundown by tech analysts Digital Foundry highlighted three previously undisclosed details:
a power supply rated for a maximum 390W
16.7 teraflop custom AMD Radeon GPU
2GB of additional DDR5 RAM
So what does this mean? Digital Foundry notes that the power consumption is up from the 340W-rated base PS5, meaning the console might be a bit of a power hog. We’ll see how efficiency settings salvage people’s energy bills. It also points out that the 16.7 teraflops is lower than previous leaks (but higher than the base console’s 10.23), while the addition of 2GB RAM is higher. Ultimately, the devil will be in how well the PS5 Pro can leverage a custom configuration and new PSSR upscaling tech to deliver results above and beyond what an off-the-shelf PC is capable of at a similar price point.
Sony, meanwhile, finally gave the full list of over 50 games that PS5 Pro owners will be able to checkout at launch and see these beefier specs and upscaling in action. Here they are:

While I don’t have a PS5 Pro on the way yet—mortgage, kids, that winter heating bill that’s on the way—I would certainly be excited to check out Star Wars Outlaws, Alan Wake 2, and Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth if I did. All three games are technically impressive showpieces that also sport incredible environments and overall art design. The ray-tracing in Remedy Entertainment’s horror thriller looks particularly stunning so far.
But there are also some notable absences on the list. Final Fantasy XVI, which is an exclusive with notable framerate issues, doesn’t seem to be getting a PS5 Pro enhanced mode yet. And Returnal, Housemarque’s excellent 2021 roguelike space shooter, is also missing. Elden Ring, one of the best selling and most critically acclaimed games of the past few years, doesn’t appear to have any upgrades at launch either.
While PS5 Pro enhanced modes let games take advantage of better framerates, resolutions, and texture density, developers also need to put in the work to make those upgrades happen. It’s possible many of the above games will see their improvements begin rolling out in the not-too-distant future. In the meantime, even regular games should get some overall performance stability boosts from the more powerful PS5 Pro hardware.
