So, to try and stem the worst of the bleeding from this “economic crisis”, the Australian government gave everybody in the country who paid tax last year AUD$900 (USD$630). The thinking being, if everybody goes out and spends $900 on stuff, then it’ll help prop up the economy.
What’d I get? I did my duty and bought a 50″ Pioneer Kuro plasma TV (cost more than $900, obviously, but the free money certainly helped). Which, it turns out, is too big for my parent’s living room (who I’m living with while my new house is being built), leaving me with a new TV that…is going to sit in its box for months.
Kinda wish now that I’d bought something that I could use, you know?
