On September 18, Pokemon: Black and White went on sale in Japan. Even in October, the game continues to barrel through the sales charts. Hot cakes, folks, hot cakes!

In the past four weeks, the game has sold over 4 million copies in The Land of the Rising Sun. This is the fastest-selling Pocket Monster game ever.

The game shifted 2.6 million copies in its first two days when it went on sale in mid-September. In comparison, the last Pokemon game, Pokemon: Diamond and Pearl, sold 1.58 million copies in its first week on sale.

will the franchise ever decide to grow up, even a little bit, with its fans? I was a rabid Pokemon fanatic back in 1999... when I was 13! I even had all 151 original Pokemon (yes even Mew). Im so much over this recycled games with new graphics (and weirder and weirder Pokemon).

With these kinds of sales numbers I dont think they need to take me back anyways.
