"The uncle who works for Nintendo," a text-based horror game by programmer Michael Lutz and artist Kimberly Parker, is a surreal trip back to middle school. It's free, it's great, and it won't take up too much of your time, even if you go for all five endings.

Put on your headphones and spend a few minutes with this one. It's creepy, unsettling, and kind of amazing. Play it here.

I knew a kid in elementary school who said his uncle worked in Japan with Nintendo, and claimed that they had up to Super Mario 6 there (this was pre-Mario 3 era). He explained that in Super Mario 5, when he died, he didn't fall off the screen, he just dropped dead on the spot. Still a disturbing idea.
