Vision Audio Inc. has created a PC game that will help kids with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) cope with their disability and develop sensory processing skills.
For those of you who might not know, ASD (sometimes oversimplified as "autism," the most severe disorder on the spectrum) is a neural disorder that makes it hard for the brain to process sensory information like sights, sounds or social cues from other people.
EASe Funhouse Treasure Hunt, the game developed by Vision Audio, helps by immersing players in a fun interactive environment while challenging their sensory processing with music playing the background. The experience is supposed to stimulate the child without overtaxing their sensory processing.
Funhouse Treasure Hunt is available on Vision Audio's website for $39.00. You can also try the demo for free. The game runs on Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and 7.
