We announce with great sorrow the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart yesterday at his home in Los Angeles, in loving care of his beloved wife Sunny, following a a brief and poignant journey with Alzheimer’s Disease and Lewy Body Dementia. He has been held in the warm embrace of family and friends, surrounded by live music, prayer, tears, laughter, and the kind of profound emotion that only he could inspire after a lifetime of devotion to us all. We will forever cherish the peaceful ease and reflection on his face, and enduring reminder of his invincible grace.

Stewart’s acting credits date back over 60 years, having begun his career on stage before eventually going on to perform in film and television, as well as a handful of video games here and there. Some of his most recognizable roles include playing Jean-Luc Picard in the Star Trek franchise beginning with 1987’s The Next Generation series. Stewart would go on to reprise the role throughout the years, starring in the Star Trek: Picard series from 2020 to 2023. He was also well-known for his portrayal of Charles Xavier in the Fox X-Men films, later appearing as a multiverse variant of the character in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Stewart’s final performance as the mutant leader will be in Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to premiere on December 18.

On the games side of things, Stewart played numerous characters in video games over the years, but perhaps his most well-known video game role was as Emperor Uriel Septim VII in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. His archived recordings were used in last year’s remaster.
