The goal in Panoramical is to find yourself in a series of fantastical works of audiovisual art. It’s a personal journey. Here’s a bit of mine.
Some call it a game. Others a tool. I call it a trip, a mental and perhaps spiritual journey through realms of sound and light. Developer Fernando Ramallo, composer David Kanaga and friends Panoramical’s worlds with gorgeous music and visuals—it’s up to the player to cultivate those seeds to suit their person.
A level may begin like this.
Using their preferred controls (keyboard, mouse, gamepad or even MIDI controller) the player begins to tweak. Perhaps they like the sound generated when they adjust the level to look like this.
Then they chase their personal aesthetic to a place that looks like this.
Eventually they find the perfect marriage of aural and visual stimuli, and their world is this.
And this same level will wind up different for everyone who plays the game. Each person will find a different home inside Panoramical’s fantastic worlds.
I may never see this...
...but I know I’ll have a wonderful time getting close.
Panoramical is available now on Steam for $9.99.
