It's been almost four months since a Pokemon game was the bestselling game on Japan's software chart, but Nintendo's newest Pokemon Ranger title for the Nintendo DS ends that dark period for the franchise. Whew!
Pokemon Ranger: Hikari no Kiseki outsold everything else the Japnaese video game market had to offer this past week, according to Media Create's latest software chart. The DS game bested .hack//LINK for the PSP and the "Ultimate Hits" version of last year's mega-hit Dragon Quest IX.
The top ten was a good mix of Wii, DS, PlayStation 3 and PSP titles, chock full of new debuts like the latest Nobunaga's Ambition for the PS3. A few more of Square Enix's budget priced re-releases, many of them Dragon Quest DS remakes, are peppered throughout the chart.
