When I opened an email about a “Transformers cosplay fan film”, I feared the worst. A CG-filled compilation of cringe, with bad Stan Bush covers.
Nope. Turned out it was the opposite. GENERATION 1 is the perfect celebration of a corny cartoon, it’s giant heads and emphatic gestures nailing the goofy tone of the original series while still looking impressive (in a Japanese Godzilla movie kinda way) thanks to a bunch of dedicated effects like RC vehicles, hand-drawn laser blasts and a practical Ark.
If this was an 11-minute show that aired at midnight on Tuesdays on Adult Swim, I would watch every damn episode.
