Despite asking for games every year for the last 24 years, few of my standout Christmas memories actually involve the things. In fact, I can think of only two. And this is one of them.
It's Christmas Comes to Pac-Land, a holiday special from the god-awful Pac-Man animated series from the early 80's. You can watch the whole thing over the course of these three YouTube clips (though you'll be doing well if get to the second one, let alone the third).
I think my sister and I would have watched this show for about 5-6 years running, seeing as it was the only animated Christmas special we had in the house that didn't suck and/or involve Snoopy.
Now that I'm a little older, and a fraction wiser, I have to wonder...who decided to cast a Pac-Man that sounds like either a drunk, wife-beating Danny De Vito or an extra from a Bruce Springsteen video?
Oh, and that second memory? It was how, in 1989, my parents giving me Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the C64 ruined Christmas.
