Ah, New Kingdom. They came, they went and few cared, except people who started sampling them a decade later and made everybody else realise what the hell they'd missed.
Formed in 1987 and releasing their second and final album in 1996, New Kingdom were a rap duo from NYC comprised of Nosaj and Sebastian.
It's not often you get to say a hip-hop group sounded completely and wholly original, but you can say that about New Kingdom.
This is Unicorns Were Horses, from their second album, Paradise Don't Come Cheap. If you need a little more motion with your YouTube music, New Kingdom actually made a video for the album's opening track, Mexico or Bust.
Soundtrack isn't news. It isn't video games. It's just Kotaku editors sharing music they dig. Enjoy!
