Well, besides a lot of talking and dialogue trees, The Idolm@ster 2 is mostly a collection of music mini-games combined with light RPG elements. You 1) do lessons to raise your stats so you can 2) perform at various concerts and events to gain fans/money so you can 3) buy new costumes (which also raise your stats), before repeating the process again.
