This past week, Gizmodo found a research project that seeks to equip infants, who otherwise can't crawl, with a motorized baby-booster controlled by a Wii Fit Balance Board. Now there's video of this contraption in action.

The device is part of the Tots on Bots collaborative research project through Ithaca College's departments of Computer Science, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy. It takes advantage of kids' instinct to lean in the direction of an object they wish to reach. There's also a remote control so that watchful parents can make sure the little one doesn't bump into something.
