When the extra Nintendo 3DS circle pad was revealed, it was shown alongside Monster Hunter 3 G. That's not the whole list of 3DS games that will support the extra slide pad. There are more. Surprisingly, many more.

Besides Monster Hunter 3 G, the following games support the 3DS Expansion Slide Pad:
Capcom's Resident Evil: Revelations, Konami's Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, Namco Bandai's Ace Combat 3D Cross Rumble, Tecmo Koei's Dynasty Warriors VS and Square Enix's still undated Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance].

The 3DS Expansion Slide Pad comes to Japan this December for 1500 yen.

With this many games providing support, this seems to be setting a standard for new big releases having a second analog option. Which, to me, indicates quite firmly that a new version of the 3DS with a second analog stick almost certainly will happen within the next year. They are so openly acknowledging this lacking feature. There's no reason why they won't come out and say a new version "with built-in second analog nub"(or even analog sticks? Heaven forbid.) will be released soon. It only makes sense.

Glad to see it's getting support, and despite the unfortunate look of the accessory, it appears to perhaps be the best way to play these upcoming games.
