Such swashbuckling swarthiness!
We have now entered the period known as "Defcon Ubi-Trailer," in which a month or so before a Ubisoft game release, the publisher starts putting out new trailers at increasingly closer intervals until we achieve some sort of trailer singularity. All the world becomes a Ubisoft trailer, and our existence dissolves into a bubbling mire of pre-order hype and one-word pullquotes from games publications.
Sometimes that's annoying, but it's much less so when the trailers are good, as is this trailer introducing the various characters we'll meet in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Side note: I'm sure I will have another opportunity to talk more about this, but as it happens, I'm distantly related to Edward Thatch, better known as Blackbeard. See, his actual name was Teach, which connected to the family of a way-back relative on my dad's side…
...anyway, this trailer is enjoyable. To make it more enjoyable, take a drink every time the narrator says "rowdy."
