I haven’t played Marvel Rivals in a hot minute, but I see what NetEase is doing with America’s sweetheart, Steve Rogers. Despite the studio’s insistence that it never set out to be a “gooner game,” the sexy skins keep coming, and they’re showing up for just about everyone. Captain America’s summer skin, however, is bonkers, and I can’t believe Marvel allowed it. Happy Birthday, America.

Cap’s latest skin is out as part of a wave of new costumes for the summer, alongside Lady Loki and White Fox. At first, it looks pretty par for the course for a Marvel Rivals skin, covering up just enough to not get a nudity flag on its rating, and putting Steve in a skimpy red-white-and-blue outfit. However, when you see it in motion, it’s clear that someone at NetEase is playing with fire, because the American flag is not at half mast.

What’s even crazier is that, if you cycle through some of Captain America’s emotes, it has jiggle physics, but animators theorize this might be a rigging issue rather than an intentional choice.

Yes, yes, “America’s Ass,” but now the country can lay claim to something on the other side.

Despite NetEase’s public assertion that Marvel Rivals is not supposed to be a horny game, its skins tell a different story, so at least it’s got a little (or a lot of) something for everyone?

The question is, when does Overwatch follow suit? Give me Soldier: 76 in a speedo, Blizzard. It’s for competition’s sake.
