Over the weekend, the Circle Pad Pro was released in Japan, meaning that people across the country are playing the 3DS with dual thumb circles.

Japanese website Game Watch Impress took some of the best hands-on photos I've seen of the device that should clue you regarding what it's like to hold the device as well as how it looks.

One thing that doesn't come across is how light the thing is: It's basically a battery, some screws, and air.

Read Kotaku's hands-on impressions here.

The add-on is expected for release in North America in early 2012.

DISCUSSION

Am I the only one that thinks this looks extremely comfortable to use? My main gripe with the 3DS is that it cramps my hands after long periods of use. I'll most likely buy this just to play games more comfortably.
