Remember last year when those guys got together and made a magazine in 48 hours? They nearly got sued. But they also made a great magazine!
Now they're back as Longshot Magazine—and I'm one pleased peckerwood to announce that we'll be hosting the creation of this issue right here at the Gawker offices in Manhattan. (Even better, I'm the chaperone, so I'll be working right alongside the team for the entire two days. Time to figure out if the shower in the office actually works or if it's still set up for hot-and-cold running scotch.)
But the best thing about Longshot is that you don't have to sit idly by and watch a bunch of writers and artists wank away at a project from afar—you can get right in there and wank alongside. Here's how.
We'll be taking submissions throughout the weekend from writers, artists, photographers, programmers, videographers—and we're even going to pay you for your contribution.
Even if you don't have a creative bone in your body, you can still contribute to the Longshot Kickstarter for Issue #2. Just a buck gets you the completed issue in PDF, while $25 or more nets you a printed copy. And for the first time there's going to be a tablet version so that you can read Longshot in your space john.
I love this project. I'm incredibly excited to be involved. And even more excited about this year's theme, which is [REDACTED].
