EA Sports is kicking off the Nintendo 3DS launch next year with a little Madden football, an off-season release that brings the NFL license into stereoscopic 3D in the palm of your hand.

Electronic Arts expects Madden NFL Football (with no yearly designation) to be available at the Nintendo 3DS launch in North America, which is expected by March 2011, featuring "authentic 11-on-11 football, fast-paced 5-on-5 action and Season Mode." EA's North Carolina studio will deliver 3D specific camera angles that come into playing during "Spotlight Moments" and "Call Your Shots" modes, as well as touchscreen play calling.

Expect 32 NFL teams and stadiums rendered in glasses-free stereoscopic 3D when Madden NFL Football hits the Nintendo 3DS in the "first half" of 2011.
