Yesterday, Kotaku published a story in which it was suggested, after to speaking to a local store here, that some GameStop stores would only be showcasing a demonstration model of the PlayStation Vita for those who had preordered the device. I've since been contacted by store representatives saying that's not the case.
The GameStop in question says the associate I spoke to was mistaken about the district policy. They absolutely will have a unit on display and will take it out and let customers play the PS Vita and try its features, whether they've preordered it or not. In any event, this is not company-wide policy, but it was never represented as such in the original post.
