The short Mortal Kombat film that set the internet on fire last year bears fruit on April 12, when the first episode of Kevin Tancharoen's Mortal Kombat: Legacy debuts on Machinima.com. Check out a clip from the series here.
Fame director Kevin Tancharoen created a live-action Mortal Kombat film short last year featuring actor friends like Star Trek: Voyager's Jeri Ryan and Spawn's Michael Jai White to get the attention of Warner Bros., a gamble that's paid off handsomely for both Tancharoen and Mortal Kombat fans.
Mortal Kombat: Legacy is a series of nine live-action shorts that explore the motivations behind characters participating in the Mortal Kombat tournament. Jeri Ryan is back as Sonya Blade, 300's Darren Shahlavi does his best Kano, and Michael Jai White kicks total ass as Sonya's partner Jax.
The series debuts on April 12, seven days ahead of the new game's April 19 release. Machinima.com will also be hosting a live event with the actors and directors of the series, so keep an eye on the website for details.
