LittleBigPlanet Patched, Offending Song Remains (Update)

Illustration for article titled LittleBigPlanet Patched, Offending Song Remains (Update)

According to, we guess, people who already have the game, Sony have thrown up an update for LittleBigPlanet, taking the game from version 1.00 to the far more polished-sounding version 1.01. Interestingly, it appears Tapha Niang - the song that started all this fuss - is still in the game. Hopefully that means all they did was fix a few niggling bugs, and dub over the Qur'an-quoting references with "I'm Buddy Rich when I fly off the handle". LBP Gets Patched [The Sixthaxis] UPDATE - "A source close to the developer" (ie someone from Media Molecule) has told Eurogamer that the update patches a few online functions and adds some new costumes. The game's music will be patched in a second update, which is due for a "later date".

DISCUSSION

Got the game yesterday (Australia).

It patched immediately once I started it up.

Song's still there.

If anyone wants to know HOW I got it, I was in Kmart and found a whole stack of copies (still sealed) underneath a printout on the counter explaining the recall. Just waited until no one was looking, and "yoink!"

Made sure it'd scan first, then took it to the checkout. No raised eyebrows there.

Yeah, I think I'm going to prison. :(
