Call of Duty
The original game is important. It kickstarted one of the most popular and successful video game franchises in history, popularized the left trigger/right trigger control scheme that so many games would adopt, and felt like a more grounded and action-heavy take on a WW2 shooter. In 2020 it holds up fine, but it does feel old and it’s not a CoD I would want to run back to when I have an itch for some shooting.
