The battle for weekly console dominance in Japan, where Sony and Nintendo, not Microsoft, rule the roost, was a wash. Even Steven. Neck and neck. Dead heat. OK, Nintendo did have a little bit of a lead.
The battle of the Nintendo family versus the PlayStation family was pretty close though. 61,259 consoles and handhelds were sold on the Sony side, 61,946 consoles and handhelds on the Nintendo side. If only the PSPgo had sold double what it did this past week (a rather meager 700 units), we'd have a different outcome.
Let's do the hardware numbers (for the week of August 2 to 8, according to Media Create).
