Here’s A Very Bad FIFA Goal, Set To Music

The goal is very bad. Maybe one of the worst. But the music is perfect

A Game About Houses Of Cards, Without Any Politics

This is Where Cards Fall, “a coming of age story where you build houses of cards to move through imaginative puzzles and bring vivid memories of adolescence to life”. It’ll be out on iOS, Mac and PC in the Fall.

Oikospiel Is A Surreal Game About Work And Play From The Composer Of Proteus

If you’ve ever played Dyad, Proteus, or Panoramical, you’ve heard David Kanaga’s work before. He’s one of the smartest people in game design and his latest work, Oikospiel, is his most mind-scrambling creation yet. Book I of the game was released late last week alongside a trailer that left me as intrigued as I was bewildered.…

This is a trailer for Roleplayers, a very slick-looking documentary about LARPing from the Czech Republic. The trailer has English subtitles you can enable if they’re not on by default.

Months Later, Some Parks Are Protecting Themselves Against Pokémon Go Problems

When Pokémon Go was in its prime last year, many of the game’s more popular locations were parks. And some of those parks got trashed. Understandably, if also a little late (at least for Pokémon Go), local governments are now taking steps to try and stop this happening again. In Milwaukee, AP reports, one park…

Counter-Strike Pro Promises To “Crush” Opponent, Backs It Up In Dominating Fashion

When Astralis bested Virtus.Pro in the grand finals of the ELEAGUE Major in January, Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye tweeted that his team “underperformed” in its 2-1 victory. A member of Virtus.Pro took offense, and promised to crush Astralis when they next met. That meeting happened today, in the semifinals of DreamHack Masters Las Vegas 2017. Over…

In Guilty Gear It’s Never Over Until The Vampire Sings [Update]

Guilty Gear Xrd – Revelator – is just one of the many fighting games being showcased at this weekend’s Anime Ascension 2017, but damn it’s one of the most intense. We’ve all been there. You’re completely controlling a match, out maneuvering your opponent and constantly one-step ahead. Until you’re not. And then, somehow, in the…

A Very Happy Man On An Adult-Sized Big Wheel

I had to wait my turn while a silver-haired man in an expensive suit took High Roller’s adult-sized big wheel for a spin, but it was worth it. This was one of the happiest moments in my adult life. Normally I am not a fan of pictures showing the entire expanse of my body, but…

Just Dance‘s Best Player Is A 16-Year-Old Kid From Turkey

Just Dance has a new World Cup champion, and it’s not who anyone thought it would be. Somehow breezing past stiff competition from around the globe, high school-aged Umutcan managed the biggest upset in the game’s short competitive history. I know what you’re thinking: there’s a World Cup for Just Dance? Yes, there is. That…

Somebody’s Gonna Have To Choke A Pokémon

This is the official art from Tomy’s Toy Fair press kit for My Friend Eevee, the follow-up to My Friend Pikachu. This is not how you treat your friends. This is how you treat your friends. I didn’t get a live picture of My Friend Eevee, as the version at the show is a work…

Some Hearthstone Players Challenge Themselves To Spot Lethal Combos

Hearthstone players have been playing “spot the lethal” for years. Similar to chess puzzles, where a board state is laid out and you try to achieve checkmate in a certain number of moves, “spot the lethal” asks if you can figure out how to drop your opponent’s life to 0 in a single turn. YouTube…

These Pokémon Toys Are For Girls, But Boys Will Want Them Too

Though Pokémon has always held broad appeal across all genders, toy maker Tomy says female fans have been clamoring for stuff made specifically for them. And so we’re getting adorable little miniature playsets, purse Pokémon and awesome headbands. Works for me. I was initially confused as the Tomy rep took me through the girls section…

Leaked Switch Was Stolen, Nintendo Says

On Thursday, a NeoGAF user posted videos from a Nintendo Switch that he said he obtained two weeks early from an “unnamed store.” Today, he says he sent it back—and Nintendo says it was stolen “by employees of a U.S. distributor.” This afternoon, GAF user hiphoptherobot wrote on the popular message board that he had…
