Just Making Sure We All Still Hate Escort Missions

In today's extremely late edition of Speak-Up on Kotaku, commenter Krakenstein2 rallies us around our shared hate of having to protect someone else in our video games. Screw that.

So, does anybody actually like escort missions?

I am just asking cause I like to play games just to play and not to protect a character that seems to love getting killed or making you mess up missions.

About Speak-Up on Kotaku: Our readers have a lot to say, and sometimes what they have to say has nothing to do with the stories we run. That's why we have that little box on the front page of Kotaku. You know, the one with "Got something to say?" written in it? That's the place to post anecdotes, photos, game tips and hints, and anything you want to share with Kotaku at large. Just make sure to include #speakup in your comment so we can find it. Every weekday we'll pull one of the best #speakup posts we can find and highlight it here.

The only time I've EVER liked an escort mission is RE4 on PS2 and Wii after you unlock the alternate outfits that make Leon into a 1920s gangster and Ashley gets a suit of armor.

The reason I like that is because Ashley can't be killed or carried off. So I no longer have to worry about her, nor do I need to waste healing items on her.
