After taking a back seat to the Nintendo DSi LL for a few weeks in Japan, the PSP is back on top, outselling Nintendo's recently cheapened platform. That said...

...the Nintendo DS is still the three-way winner, selling more than 47,000 units across its three flavors. The battle between the Wii and PS3 is still close—closer than the Xbox 360—and the PSP go is still comfortably well behind the PlayStation 2.

Here's how the hardware contest went down last week, according to Japanese sales tracker Media Create.

  • PSP - 26,786
  • Nintendo DSi LL - 25,884
  • Wii - 22,239
  • PlayStation 3 - 19,473
  • Nintendo DSi - 16,318
  • Xbox 360 - 5,936
  • Nintendo DS Lite - 4,895
  • PlayStation 2 - 1,507
  • PSP go - 1,155

For the umpteenth time, the PSP didn't win. DSi figures should be added to the DSi XL figures. You don't split up the PS3 and PS3 Slim or the different iterations of the PSP.
