Playstation today invaded Best Buys across the country as part of a new outreach program entitled Experience Playstation Now.
The idea is that Playstation reps take to stores with some new games and plenty of knowledge to help educate people about the benefits of Playstation ownership. While this means games, it also means showing off some of the PS3's other, more unique abilities like media streaming, PSP linking and Blu-ray playing.
Today was a test case at select Best Buys across the country, I'm told, with Sony and the retailer looking at the impact Experience Playstation Now has on sales over the coming months.
The Best Buy near my house had a small area set up next to the gaming section of the store. The rep brought with him a full copy of InFamous as well as a full copy of Rock Band UnPlugged on a blue Playstation Portable.
Sounds like an excellent idea for Sony to do some grassroots outreach, especially if everything we're hearing about this year's E3 is true.
