making games more "accessible" is the both the worst and best thing to ever happen to gaming.

when they start holding your hand in "hardcore" titles is where someone needs to step in and smack a bitch.

Remember back 20 years ago when you'd log in endless hours in a 8-bit game, thinking you've mastered it only to find out some awesome secret from a friend a year later.

That never happens today. everything is revealed upfront, everything is on a wiki or FAQ and the game itself tells you all its secrets, moves and achievements right out of the box.

While that's great for drawing in new people who are scared of "video" "games", it sucks for people who like a challenge and a mystery. I don't like it.
