The developers of LittleBigPlanet for Vita and Tearaway Unfolded are preparing something far more unsettling. Hunger is about a little girl's escape from a very strange place called The Maw.
Tarsier has been working on Hunger since last summer, right after the studio received about $170,000 in funding for its development from the Creative Europe Programme. Today marks the game's public debut, and I'm really damn excited to see what else they're hiding about it.
The developers described what we're in for in a brief blog post:
"At its heart, Hunger is a simple idea. A young girl is trapped in a labyrinth full of monsters and wants to escape. It will be your job to help her do this. It's a genre we're calling 'suspense-adventure', on account of the fact that there will be plenty of both. Coupled with an unnerving 'Dollhouse Perspective', tactile controls, and characters with soft, dark centres, Hunger will take your hand and let it go at the worst possible moment!"
Tell me more, Tarsier. TELL ME MORE.
