1979 Revolution is a game that’s caused Iran to brand one of its creators a spy and made another one hide his identity. The long-brewing game set in the Iranian Revolution—is up now on Steam Greenlight.


Spearheaded by former Rockstar Games developer Navid Khonsari, the episodic game is expected to be out this fall, with versions for PC, Mac, iOS, Android, and consoles all in the works.

I don’t understand why Iran would be against this game? Isn’t the 1979 revolution their equivalent of the U.S. 1776 revolution? Aren’t they proud of it? Unless this game portray’s it in a negative light, I don’t get it.
