Hey, Kotaku Game Club, We're Playing Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Next

Welcome back, Game Clubbers! Since last month's Game Club was Xbox exclusive, it seems only fair that we do one for our PS3-owning members next. With that mind, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception stood out as a logical choice.

The Uncharted series' is defined by its cinematic presentation and grand set-pieces. As an action series, the primary goal of Uncharted is to thrill and excite you, continually delivering amazing experiences that we've never seen before. Even the game's multiplayer has that signature Uncharted flair, with environment-specific events that aim to transform every multiplayer match into an exciting action sequence instead of a competition. Any game that is this carefully constructed is just begging for us to pull back each layer and figure what makes it appealing (or not) and why.

For anyone who has yet to participate, The Game Club's mission is to play a video game together as a group in order to experience it as a community. The Game Club meets each week to discuss our experiences with the chosen game, including its narrative and mechanical themes, and our own responses to them. Each week, there will be a column about the section that we've just played, which serves as our meeting place.

The goal of the Game Club to get everybody talking, so don't be shy about putting out your ideas. That's what we're here for.

All you need to do is hop into the comments section of any of these posts, and—voila!—you're in the Game Club. Our meetings last for about an hour, though the conversation can go on as long as you'd like.

For Uncharted 3, we'll be discussing the campaign for the first three weeks, leaving our multiplayer talk for the end. As in the past, we'll be meeting every Thursday at 4pm Eastern.

Here's the full schedule:

Thursday, November 3rd: Campaign, Week 1
Thursday, November 10th: Campaign, Week 2
Thursday, November 17th: Campaign, Week 3
Wednesday, November 23rd: Multiplayer

As you can see, there is one small scheduling hiccup this month: Since our last meeting would have lansed on Thanksgiving and many of us will be with family for the holiday weekend, we'll be holding our final meeting the day before. We'll be sending out blips on Kotaku to remind everyone when our meetings are and to announce any unforeseen scheduling changes.

See you next week, 4pm ET!
