If you're going to this year's Gamescom convention in Cologne, Germany—like Kotaku is!—you'll be among the first to see games like Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Final Fantasy XIV in action.

Those are the two titles that Square Enix will be showing off next week only in its special cinema, where the first public showing of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and scheduled presentations of the next Final Fantasy MMO will happen.

Square Enix also has a handful of games that will be playable on the messy Gamescom show floor. That includes unreleased fare like Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, Front Mission Evolved, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep and Final Fantasy XIV.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will be there, as will Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days. But those titles will be released next week, making their appearance at Gamescom slightly less exciting.

Join us next week, August 18 to 22, when Gamescom 2010 happens.
