Quantum Mechanix is releasing a line of big fancy action figures based on Star Trek: The Next Generation, and the first one is Picard.
QMX have a collection of images showing off the figure and his outfit and accessories here, but I much prefer Toyark’s gallery, which puts him in the correct poses.

And here’s what the figure looks like when its not a meme template:

DISCUSSION
Coincidentally, last night I fired up TNG on Netflix for the first time in a long while, and man, it really is something special. I did laugh my ass off at Riker’s posing and some of the other high theatrics, but also it’s such a thoughtful, idealistic show. The first episode I watched was “First Contact,” season four, about a world on the verge of warp technology, but struggling with entrenched ideological conservatism. TNG at its best was a brilliant sci-fi anthology series, leaning on sociological and ethical themes rather than new ways to make things go boom.
There certainly hasn’t been another show like it, and I can’t imagine we’ll see one any time soon. To have it so well remastered, too, is another minor miracle.
