Widely expected, Microsoft will publish an HD remake of the original Halo on Nov. 15. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary will feature "seven of the greatest multiplayer maps of all time," in addition to "the campaign of the decade remade and remastered.
I know people are excusing that whole "campaign of the decade" stuff as just marketing speak. But the thing is that Halo 1's campaign was not just not the best campaign of the decade, it really wasn't all that good to begin with. It was wildly inconsistent, with the good parts ruined by constant copy-and-paste level design and the absolute shit that was the Library. The multiplayer was great, and Bungie had plenty of good ideas that they expanded on in the sequels, but the campaign of the first was deeply, deeply flawed.
