The famous French filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard once said, "All you need to make a movie is a girl and a gun." That certainly seems to be the M.O. for the new televised Lupin anime, A Woman Called Fujiko.
The anime recently debuted on Japanese TV (check out the first episode here). In the gallery above, you can see the screencaps from the second.
The anime features both guns and girls—Fujiko seems to spend much of this episode walking around with no clothes on. Daisuke Jigen, the dude in the hat, looks incredibly badass as does the show's art style.
It's nice to see a cool and sexy anime that doesn't take place in high school—it's also nice to see a cool and sexy anime directed by a female.
Do hope that this helps trigger a recalibration in Japanese anime, which has been dominated by gooey moé characters for far too long. Make anime for adults with adults.
