A YouTuber who primarily creates videos about Grand Theft Auto 6 filmed himself entering developer Rockstar North’s office lobby and claims local police were called and got involved in the situation.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 is the most anticipated video game release of 2026 and likely will be one of the biggest media launches in history. So it’s not surprising that people are going wild as they wait for a new trailer or any scrap of new information. That doesn’t excuse what one online creator did earlier on May 26 (once the planned release date for GTA 6 before it was delayed for a second time), but it does provide some context for why someone might fly to Edinburgh, Scotland, and then enter the lobby of the studio behind GTA 6.

On June 2, as spotted by IGN, German YouTuber ÜberGaming posted a video that shows them entering Rockstar North’s lobby after staying in a luxury hotel across the street from the office. UberGaming also included a photo of two police officers, who he claims showed up after Rockstar called the police. Online, many reacted with confusion and disgust, alleging that the creator did this just to get attention. Others have claimed he was arrested, but that has yet to be confirmed. More likely, he was escorted off the premises and warned not to show back up.

Kotaku has contacted Rockstar Games for more information about the situation. Grand Theft Auto 6 is (still) set to launch on November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Unfortunately for the developers working at Rockstar North, who are already dealing with a lot of other serious problems, this isn’t the first time an obsessed fan has shown up unannounced at the GTA studio. Last October, a TikTok creator flew over to the studio and began harassing and pestering employees entering and exiting the building.

It should go without saying, but do not show up at game studios and harass people or trespass on the premises simply because you are really, really excited about a game or know other people are hyped for it. Stop. Be normal. Read a book. Eat some ice cream. Take a nap. I don’t know, but don’t do this shit, okay?
