Spanning three excellent, bloody titles, Sony's God of War trilogy has finally come to an end with the release of God of War III. But did you know there was originally an end after the end?

Speaking with GameTrailers, Senior Producer Steve Caterson says in response to questions of whether any content from the game had been cut, "Probably the hardest cut was we had a whole kind of epilogue at the end planned that we just never got...just didn't get...maybe later!"

A downloadable epilogue, perhaps? DLC is always a contentious point at the best of times, but hey, at least an epilogue makes more sense as an addition to a game you've completed than inserting random missions, ala Assassin's Creed II and Mass Effect 2.

That....disappoints. A LOT. Three fully realized main series titles and they cut the ending? I hope it was because it didn't make much sense or it was a letdown, not because they want to make more money off me later. Cause unless it's free, I can't imagine getting DLC for this game. I'll play it, I'll love it, but then I'm gonna be done with it just like the first two.

The advent of so much online gaming has really led to some shoddy workmanship. You'd be hard pressed to find dozens of NES games that shipped broken. Unplayable or randomly deleting saves or so buggy and glitchy that it's not worth it. Yet it seems every few weeks another title hits consoles that isn't even completed. And that doesn't even tap into the entire genre that's beginning that I like to call, "We want more money so here's 90% of the story and FU, you'll have to buy the rest." Obviously Prince of Persia is the worst offender, but AC2 and a few others are leaning that way now.

Also this should be labeled as spoilers. Cause I'm guessing this just flat out admitted Kratos doesn't die in the end. Otherwise you have an epilogue of...what? Characters you don't know or care about or weren't introduced until GoW3? No dice. And thanks, I was actually hoping they'd kill Kratos off this round so that I could guarantee he won't come back in the future and milk this series like...oh I dunno....MGS.
