Gameplay videos and trailers are great for showing what a game looks like, but Capcom wanted to create a different kind of video to show off Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D for the Nintendo 3DS. They asked their advertising agencies for ideas that would show the Resident Evil experience without relying solely on gameplay, and the one that struck them featured a zombie following a guy around like a dog. But it's not just any dog—it's a super needy and annoying dog. That needs to be put down every now and then.

Some saw the infected creature not as the man's pet, but as a figment of his imagination—the after-effects of playing too much Resident Evil. The idea of a man with an imaginary zombie tag-along felt a bit more "Resident Evil," so ultimately, they ended up aiming for a bit of an undead Tyler Durden, who silently influenced every aspect of the player's life, acting as a constant reminder of the game world.

Working with an incredibly professional team, Capcom filmed the whole piece in two days, and snapped a few pics. Behold the final result above and be sure to check out the behind-the-scenes photo gallery!
