Get Me To The Airport In Time For It To Explode

Routine trips to the airport will never be the same, now that Disney Interactive Studios has released a playable demo of action racing game Split/Second on Xbox Live.

I had a pretty good time racing through the Airport Terminal level in Disney's Split/Second during E3 last year, so I think there's a pretty good chance you'll have a good time dodging collapsing air traffic control towers and collapsing whole sections of the street in the Xbox Live demo, now available for download on a 360 near you.

For those of you who've not been paying attention, Split/Second is a combat racing game set within the world of a reality TV show with a special effects budget somewhere in the neighborhood of the gross national product of a small country. Players strategically trigger mass, track-changing events to put their opponents off their game.

It's pretty damn impressive, but you don't have to take my word for it, as long as you're an Xbox Live Gold subscriber.

Split/Second hits the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on May 18.

While I doubt it will preform as well as my favorite series, Burnout... I'll be happy to rent it and give it a shot, assuming a demo isn't released first on the PS3 side any time before release.

Based on what I've heard about it (I haven't seen it in action yet) this game reminds me of a Ps3 launch title, Full Auto 2.
