About Star Wars Jedi Survivor

STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor is an action-adventure game based on the character of Cal Kestis, a Jedi struggling to survive a galaxy that is quickly closing in on him. The game continues the story of Jedi: Fallen Order; however, you can experience the game without playing the first part.

It is a set of exploration, platforming, and lightsaber fighting. The places that you pass through seem to be tiny pocket worlds sewn together, and not a single large open map. There are broad parts and narrow parts, and the reversing is not accidental, as you gain skills or means to travel as you go.

The game combines plot-based scenes, silent times to hunt secrets and puzzles that have to be solved with a break, and bigger arena battles that can raise their difficulty level if you are unprepared. Nevertheless, it does not give an impression of power fantasy even though the brand is Star Wars.

Cal is powerful and weak at the same time, and the motive of perseverance is supported in this case. You may see it as a movie adventure or explore every niche and get to know the setting better. In any case, the game is more of a single-player experience that switches between heavy action and exploration, not by a fixed formula.

Why Should I Play STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor?

STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor continues the story of Fallen Order. You will find Cal Kestis and all the friends he made in the first chapter of his adventures. Survivor still offers third-person gameplay, but with enhanced graphics since 5 years have passed between the two titles.

The pitch is the combination of a classic Star Wars feel and mechanics that are closer to a modern action game. There will be numerous lightsaber poses, which allow you to experiment with quick attacks, full swings, or the ranged ones. The game perfects your position of choice and forms Cal around it. Traversal is an important concern as well—climbing, mounting, gliding, and chaining are less disjointed compared to the first game.

It is a more adult story that focuses on a Jedi who remains optimistic in times of pandemonium. There are moments of slowed pace where the fears of the characters are discussed, and there are sudden moments when you are thrown into chaos. This is why it is unpredictable; it does not hurry to the next big thing. Elements that are familiar to the fans of semi-open worlds, which reward exploration, will be found here.

It does not imitate a Souls-like imitation, but it steals rest points, foe resolutions, and skill trees. The game is not challenging unless you opt to have a more challenging game. This variation ensures that it is appropriate for players who desire a narrative as well as those who seek a bigger challenge. Survivor is more confident and multifaceted, in case you liked Fallen Order. It is a good starting point in the case of new persons, and has depth once you have established yourself.

Is STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor Free-to-play?

No. STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor is a standard-priced game that does not have a free version or a demo version. You buy the game, and then there is an optional upgrade, the Deluxe Upgrade, that includes cosmetic items. EA Play subscribers can play the game as part of their subscription, and don’t need to purchase it separately.

The prices differ a bit depending on the region, yet online shopfronts work similarly. Select your edition, download, and the game is automatically installed and will automatically be launched.

Where Can I Download STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor?

You can download the digital version of the game from various storefronts. On PC, the two most used platforms are Steam and the EA App, both of which require an EA account. The size of the installation is huge, and the patches are also usually large. Console players can also download it, as it's available for the PlayStation Store (PS4 and PS5) or the Xbox Store (Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S). The game is also available in a physical version.

Since it is a single-player game with regular updates, there is no matchmaking and no servers, but you need an internet connection to install the patches. Console players do not require an additional launcher; the game is installed according to the system procedure. Survivor occupies more space than Fallen Order, and day-one updates are compulsory.

What Games Should I Play If I Enjoy STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor?

Of course, the most direct one is STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order, as Survivor carries on everything it has presented. Fallen Order is less complex, has fewer positions, and has fewer ways to traverse, but it is a tighter structure that is easier to digest in case you want a more contained experience. It is more preoccupied with the lonely Jedi on the run, and the plot revolves around Cal discovering his identity, rather than being focused on keeping others safe. The worlds you are visiting are smaller yet still full of secrets, and the pacing of the combat is a little slower. It is also worth playing Fallen Order later to see how relationships between characters are, and it provides context as to why Survivor opens the way it does. If you decide to revisit it, you can simply download it whenever you feel ready to continue Cal’s story.

Hogwarts Legacy offers a similar gameplay experience: third-person, open world, some fights, and an enemy to stop. You are a new student at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Explore the grounds of the school and around, find concealed rooms, use your magic, and solve puzzles. In place of lightsaber fighting, you are casting spells on magical monsters, but the sequence of adventurous exploration, finding shortcuts, and unfamiliar knowledge retrieval has a similar beat. Both games will allow you to freely travel across the expansive fields and take up side paths without necessarily guiding you along a rigid main story. In case you enjoyed Survivor because it was an exploration game, with you leading the pace of secret hunting, Hogwarts Legacy scratches that same itch in a different genre. Many players download it just to sink into its world at their own pace without pressure.

Horizon Forbidden West is more open-world and bigger than Survivor, noisier, but both are centered around character-driven narration that revolves around fighting and exploration. The world-building approach adopted by Aloy is not so detailed, yet those who like maps, difficult enemies, and building powers based on the threats will find some similarity. There is a more open way of pacing, and you can either run off down side quests or decide to approach major beats of the story on your own terms. Assuming that you loved Survivor because of its combination of filming scenes and strong exploration, Forbidden West offers a comparable balance in a larger measure. It’s the kind of game people download when they want a long, immersive journey that grows over time.
