It is developed by Halo Studios (formerly 343 Industries) and published by Xbox Game Studios. The story (except the three new missions) takes place immediately after the events of Halo Reach. The flagship Pillar of Autumn comes under a violent assault by the alien Covenant forces and crashes onto a mysterious artificial ring known as Halo.
Accompanied by the artificial intelligence Cortana, the Spartan John-117 soon discovers that a danger threatens all life in the galaxy. Heavily armed and determined to fight, he infiltrates behind enemy lines to carry out his various missions. True to the FPS genre, the action unfolds in first-person view and offers the chance to pilot several iconic vehicles, such as the Warthog, the Scorpion, the Ghost, and the Banshee. The action is fast-paced, and the level design has been revamped on certain levels to make them less linear. Interestingly, the game’s playtime is extended by three brand-new missions that take place one year before the Pillar of Autumn’s crash on the Ring.
Why Should I Play Halo: Campaign Evolved?
Halo Campaign Evolved is a first-person shooter in the true spirit of the series’ earlier installments. The action is viewed through the eyes of the main character, and progression is based on a series of missions, each introducing a new plot element. Thanks to gameplay that’s been modernized compared to the original, the game is very accessible.
In addition to the incredibly fluid movements, the shooting mechanics feel great and the environment is interactive, which adds a lot of energy to objectives that sometimes lack variety. You can now sprint, and it’s a real blast to take control of turrets or various vehicles.

Collectively known as Operation: Meteorite, they feature the Master Chief alongside Sergeant Major Avery Johnson on a covert mission aboard a Covenant farming vessel. It’s a clever way to introduce environments unfamiliar to the series, such as alien greenhouses and biological laboratories.
The next two missions also contribute to the atmosphere, particularly through objectives that foreshadow games like Halo 2 and Halo 3. This adds another two or three hours of gameplay, which is no small thing. For completionists, Halo Campaign Evolved offers the chance to find more than forty skulls in the missions—including the new ones—as well as terminals. Not bad! Whether played solo or in co-op, the game offers an excellent narrative campaign and lets you enjoy a cult classic with today’s technology. Very effective.

The grappling hook—inherited from Halo 5—brings even more flexibility to combat, and competitive multiplayer is included for some epic moments.
